The project was to create a poster and program set for a fictionalized event: The Kansas City Upcycle Art Fest. Upcycling is the process of reusing discarded material and creating a product of higher value, or in this case, art from it.
The final design is bold, a little nostalgic, a little funky, and colors are derived from those found in nature: primarily greens and oranges, as ultimately upcycling is environmentally-motivated with the goal being sustainability and preservation. The pattern that is present throughout the project is inspired with this in mind.

Poster and billboard design.
Pattern developed for use throughout the campaign. The colors and shapes are organic and bright, with the flowing motion meant to convey the playfulness, flexibility and creativity common in upcycling artists.
Hanging banner displaying the pattern and an alternate wordmark.
Event program, including front and back cover and inside spread. Program relays necessary information regarding both the concept of upcycling as well as the event itself.
Three variants of t-shirt available as event merchandise.
Metal water bottle and canvas tote variants. Reusable products to be mindful of upcycling's message of sustainability and environmental conservation.
